Q: I cannot view images from the IP Camera from the WAN side when it is connected to a broadband router. Why?

A: There are several possible reasons for this, originating from the broadband or wireless router, or a setting on the IP camera itself. Broadband router or wireless router side.

You may not have configured the router for Port Forwarding, or forwarding ports on the router may not match the settings on the network camera. Refer to the router's owner's manual for information on how to configure port forwarding. The router may be configured for packet filtering, or a similar feature, which blocks certain types of access from the internet side. If so, change the settings to allow the router to be accessed from the WAN (internet). Refer to the router's owner's manual for details.

The default gateway may not have been set properly in the IP camera's network window. The router's port forwarding may not match the settings of the network camera. Change the settings on the router or on the network camera so they match. If you want to access the network camera using a private IP address, type the global IP address of the broadband router followed by the port number of the network camera in the web browser.
